Top Ghanaian personalities Ama K Abebrese, Nadia Buari, Martha Ankomah, Sika Osei, Irene Logan, Elikem Kumordzi, and others joined the ‘Abbot Elementary ‘ favourite and Emmy Award winner at the high-profile brunch.

On Sunday, March 26, EMY Africa hosted American bestselling author and Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph to an uber-exclusive brunch to celebrate her visit to Ghana.

Top Ghanaian personalities Ama K Abebrese, Nadia Buari, Martha Ankomah, Sika Osei, Irene Logan, Elikem Kumordzi, and others joined the ‘Abbot Elementary’ favourite, author of the bestseller ‘Redefining Diva’ and the first black woman in 35 years to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the high-profile brunch, which was organised in partnership with Dr. Michelle McKinney Hammond inside the plush new Mercedes Benz Ghana by CFAO showroom at Airport City.

The actress showed up to the special event donned in a red Pistis number. Earlier in the year, Sheryl made headlines in Ghana after she posted photos of her at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards in a Kente dress by the Ghanaian designer. “The moment I put that dress on, I felt like a black Cinderella, I felt like royalty,” she told EMY Africa Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Albert Chris Soboh in an interview.

Sheryl has been in Ghana exploring the country’s culture, people, and history since her arrival on March 20th. The brunch with the stars was a farewell party for her.

“When Dr McKinney told me Sheryl was coming to town, I said, wow let’s do this! Let’s give her a memorable event,” said Kojo Soboh, CEO of EMY Africa.

For Dr McKinney Hammond, the event was a way to bring together players in the Ghanaian creative industry and to create an atmosphere where they could draw inspiration from Sheryl’s journey.

Sheryl is not leaving Ghana empty-handed, accompanying her back home are warm gifts which were presented to her by Kojo Soboh on behalf of Ghanaian skincare brands Skin Gourmet, Talata, and food processing brand, BonneGraine.

The ambiance of the Mercedes Benz Ghana by CFAO showroom gave the event an air of serenity serenaded by music from the Relevance Band.

“When EMY Africa called on us, we had to answer as the brand represents what Mercedes Benz stands for, which is excellence,” said Dennis Gawuga, the Communications Manager at Mercedes Benz Ghana by CFAO.
