NOVEMBER, IN DISTINGUISHED COMPANY

Our MOTY Party returns on 8th November, ahead of the 11th EMY Africa Awards on 21st November 2026.

An awards night tells a story about what a society values. At EMY Africa, we have spent the past decade making our case through the people we honour and the work that earns them their place. This November, we continue that story with two occasions that bring our community together.

We open on 7th November with the MOTY (Man of the Year) Party, to welcome nominees, friends of EMY Africa and distinguished guests for an evening with a more relaxed sense of occasion. There is particular pleasure in meeting beyond the formalities of the ceremony, with time to renew acquaintances and find common ground over a conversation. This time around, we invite you to join us dressed in Denim and Spice. Consider it an invitation to give a wardrobe staple a little attitude.

The party has earned its place in our calendar through that spirit of fellowship. Before the honours are conferred, we raise a glass to the people whose achievements give the season its purpose.

On 21st November, we gather for the 11th EMY Africa Awards. Our attention turns to individuals whose contributions deserve a place in the wider African record. Their work spans enterprise and public service, with cultural achievement equally central to the story we seek to tell.

For us, recognition carries an editorial responsibility. Each person we honour helps shape an understanding of achievement on this continent. Behind the distinction lies work that warrants closer attention, often sustained over years and felt well beyond the individual.

That conviction will guide our eleventh edition. There will be the pleasure of dressing for the occasion and the anticipation of the evening’s honours. At its heart, however, is the opportunity to give consequential work the audience it deserves.

We look forward to welcoming you this November, as we open the next chapter of EMY Africa in distinguished company.
